Latest On Aloisia?s WWE Status, 3-Hour Raw Announced, Victoria Removed From WWE Site http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36324&goto=newpost Sat, 04 Sep 2010 20:26:53 GMT source: www.f4wonline.com

– While there is no official update on Aloisia’s status with World Wrestling Entertainment, is is believed that she has not been released by the company. Many presume WWE officials realized she was far too green to appear on national television and thus demoted to Florida Championship Wrestling for additional training.

When asked to comment on her dismissal from NXT, the 6’9″ grappler tweeted, “Just know there is absolutely NO replacing ME. We ALL know there is just 1 of me in the ENTIRE world & I’ll be back.”

WWE Monday Night Raw on November 15, 2010 will be a three-hour show, airing from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. on USA. The venue of the event has yet to be announced. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

– The official WWE website removed Victoria’s profile from the Alumni section Friday, just one day after the multi-time Women’s Champion returned to TNA Wrestling programming. She was added back to the section in June, shortly after it was believed that she had parted ways with the organization.

Now obviously this is tailored towards an audience living in Britain, so it isn't as in depth as an American publication but it is normally a good read.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/markmardell/

His latest post is about how he thinks that Sarah Palin would probably have a shot at the Republican nomination for 2012. He goes on about how the only people who will even think of voting for her are the bible bashers but the momentum these people provide could potentially be enough for a no hoper in the Presidential election to be the official candidate regardless. Oh and there's a bit of a tease about that whackjob Glenn Beck potentially being an important part of her race for President.

Any thoughts America? Not just about Mrs Palin for President (which would be lulzy because who doesn't want a P.I.L.F.) but how Mark Mardell is interpreting the various things happening in America. There's another couple of entries on the link I've provided, just wanted to know if those make any sense to a person closer to the American political scene. ]]>

Quote:

Authorities are evacuating residents from earthquake-hit Christchurch as New Zealand prime minister John Key visits the city to assess the damage.

Mr Key travelled to Christchurch with civil defence minister John Carter after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake rocked the country's second largest city early this morning.

A state of emergency has been declared in the and the Selwyn District, and the area was shaken by aftershocks.

Building facades have collapsed, cars have been crushed and many homes have suffered damage after the quake hit. Water, power and sewerage are also affected and the airport is closed.

Mr Carter says residents will be evacuated from Christchurch for their own safety, adding the dangers of falling masonry are considered serious enough to take the measure.

Police say there are some reports of lootings and they have made several arrests.

Christchurch Hospital says no-one has been killed, but two people have been seriously injured and many others have also suffered some injuries, including broken bones and cuts.

Civil defence director John Hamilton told Radio New Zealand the priority now is to get water supplies to people.

He says it could take days or even weeks to get the city's water and sewerage facilities fixed.

"I would expect us to be able to source trucks or milk tankers for example and set up distribution points at locations around the city," Mr Hamilton said.

"Then asking residents to take their water container to the distribution point to get a ration of water because there won't be a lot for everybody and allow that for drinking and cooking basically."

The New Zealand army is preparing to send troops to assist in Christchurch if required.

Christchurch mayor Bob Parker says infrastructure checks are underway and he is urging people to conserve water and stay off the roads.

"[It was] just a tremendous release of energy ... just 30 kilometres away from the centre of Christchurch," he said.

"Given that and given the scale of the earthquake, the damage which is very, very significant in terms of cracks in buildings. There will need to be a lot of inspection.

"People do need to take care and they do need to be conscious of the danger of aftershocks."

Mr Parker says people should use their common sense.

"Emergency services are flat out at the moment. The assessment is underway. Take sensible precautions but don't go out sight-seeing, check on your neighbours," he said.

"Do the things that communities do so well at times like this."

'Unbelievable'

Resident Susannah Symonds says she has felt about 50 aftershocks.

"It lasted a good, probably, maybe, 15, 20 seconds and we couldn't see where we were going," she said.

"Things were just falling over on the floor. It was just unbelievable. It was the most scariest thing I've ever experienced."

Frances Adank, who lives in the Christchurch suburb of St Albans, says water is bubbling up through the ground.

"The scale of it is quite astonishing out here," he said.

"The city council I think is going to be working for days to get the water mains sorted out. It just looks to me like all the water mains - there's loads of water mains that have broken because there's sand bubbling, like there's sandcastles all over our front lawn in St Alban's and it's pouring towards the gutters and there's just water pouring out of every front section."

Dr Sebastian Koga, a neurosurgeon at Christchurch Hospital, says the city was in darkness.

"All the lights went out," he said.

"Sirens were sounding and I came to check on our patients and to help in the trauma bay."

Christchurch's Lyttelton Port chief executive officer Peter Davie says there has been damage to the wharf and he estimates the repair costs will be in the millions.

"We've got to do a full assessment of it now. We're going to get people underneath and have a good look but there's been quite a bit of movement," he said.

"It looks like the port will be operational but quite a bit of damage with it."

Mount Hutt avalanches

The destructive earthquake also caused some avalanches on the Mount Hutt ski field, which is popular with Australian holidaymakers.

The ski area manager, David Wilson, says they are assessing the infrastructure to decide whether or not to open the ski field.

Meanwhile, Geoscience Australia says the earthquake is not likely to have any impact on Australia.

Seismologist Steve Tatham says the measuring instruments felt the impact of the earthquake here, but there is no further threat or tsunami warning.

"In this case being on the east coast of New Zealand the actual south island of New Zealand if you think about it would shield Australia," he said.

"So if there to be any disturbance of the ocean floor the tsunami would travel out in to the Pacific and any affects on Australia would be minimal."
While stuff like this happens all around the world, it does have a bit more impact for you when it's somewhere you've been recently and you know people there.

Rocka and Silver, hope it hasn't affected you guys too much. ]]>

Matt Hardy Vents His Frustrations, Has WWE Re-signed Eugene?, Supershow Moved To U.S. http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36317&goto=newpost Sat, 04 Sep 2010 01:51:35 GMT – WWE will be holding a Raw & Smackdown Supershow at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Washington on October 16, 2010. Bell time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale September 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. This event was originally going to be in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. (Thanks to Devin Cutting)

– Apparently, there are reports circulating online that World Wrestling Entertainment has re-signed former performer Nick “Eugene” Dinsmore. Those within the company have stated that the reports are untrue, reports www.f4wonline.com.

– Matt Hardy is apparently frustrated as he posted the following gripe on his Twitter account Thursday:

“As u know, I’m extremely passionate about my job-I give everything I have every time I’m in the ring. Its frustrating when its not enough. Gotta state this. I’m sick & tired of being ‘hurt’, being misused, & not being shown the respect that I’ve earned-something has to change.”

He then added: “As far as “kayfabing” people, I’ve never done anything intentionally 2 insult my fans-I just try to make things unpredictable & real for u. IMO, that’s how pro wrestling should be.. Unpredictable & full of suspense-I try & keep that in mind. Cuz as a fan, that’s what I want.

“For the record, I’m not “quitting”, I don’t have my head down & I’m as optimistic as ever-but sometimes, u gotta just say what’s on ur mind.”

Jim Ross on Title Unifications, SmackDown Being Live, Sgt. Slaughter, and more http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36316&goto=newpost Fri, 03 Sep 2010 23:38:43 GMT Jim Ross has a new blog entry up. Highlights are below.

On Sgt. Slaughter being hospitalized: “After our Legends of Wrestling Roundtable taping on Wednesday night Sgt Slaughter was hospitalized in Stamford after becoming ‘light headed.’ The cause of Sarge’s discomfort was low blood level which was addressed and he should be good to go as I write this. Sarge was in great spirits Wednesday night after receiving medical care but was kept overnight for observation which is the norm for a matter such as this. Bottom line is that the WWE Hall of Famer will be fine after a few scary moments. ”

On Title Unifications: “I’m a proponent of unifying titles in pro wresting. Too many titles waters down the product in my view. When decision makers were still wrestling they would often create meaningless titles to appease egocentric performers or to enhance their own egos.”

On working with the Oklahoma football: “Thursday’s ‘Daily Oklahoman’ newspaper, www.oknews.com, featured a photo of yours truly on the front page of the sports section regarding the Oklahoma football announcing position that will be vacated when the legendary Bob Barry, Sr retires after this school year. Many have jumped the gun on speculation on this matter. Don’t think that I wouldn’t love to have that personal, dream job which is one that I’ve embraced for years but the process to replace the man who will always be the voice of OU football has not commenced. No matter who is hired I will always be a Sooner fanatic and still plan on attending every game, home and away, for the foreseeable future. This will be a coveted role for any broadcaster who has college football in their DNA. BTW I first listened to Bob Barry, Sr broadcast when I was 9 years old on a small, transistor radio long before the days of ESPN and virtually every Sooner game being televised. I am a product of a radio generation and guys like Jack Buck, Harry Caray, and Larry Munson have always influenced my work and ability to tell a compelling story. ”

On Smackdown being live: “Others have asked if WWE would do better if Friday Night Smackdown was always a ‘live’ show. I don’t have a definitive answer but my thoughts are probably not. This assumption is based on the fact that too much credence is put on internet ‘spoiler’ information making the viewing decision for the fan. I think that the internet, although a vital aspect of information flow, still has such a small audience when compared to the entire TV universe that it has minimal affect to the casual, TV viewer. If the programming is compelling and episodically produced, folks will do all they can to either watch it as it airs or via DVR, etc.” ]]>

He is staying at the same facility as former WWE performer Scott Hall.

Hart is claiming that he entered rehab at the urging of his uncle, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, who said that if he successfully completes the center’s program, would persuade WWE to give him another shot.

During his last run with AAA, Hart managed to unite the entire locker room against him due to his reputation of changing match finishes and spots to put himself over. The tweet came just hours after her response to recent jabs from TNA Wrestling performers “The Beautiful People” made its way onto a number of wrestling websites. TNA Brass Losing Faith In Mick Foley, TNA Holding Knockout-Themed Pay-Per-View http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36308&goto=newpost Fri, 03 Sep 2010 15:52:48 GMT source: Pro Wrestling Torch

– While Mick Foley is expected to return to the squared circle in October at TNA Wrestling’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view event, he is no longer considered a long-term in-ring option by those within the organization.

On the night of the company’s big angle where Fortune assaulted EV2.0, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion was instructed to lie down when the lights went out to give the audience the impression that he was laid out during the sequence. While it’s possible this will play into the storyline, there aren’t many people within TNA who feel they can count on him to put on a good match at this point.

– A new TNA Knockouts-themed pay-per-view broadcast featuring previously aired matches is scheduled to debut Saturday, October 2.

Entitled TNA Wrestling Knockouts: Mad Sexy Vol. 1, its description reads: “TNA Wrestling Knockouts: Mad Sexy Volume 1, hosted by Playboy centerfold and TNA Knockout Christy Hemme, will feature top matches from the past between TNA Knockouts like Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Gail Kim.”

Jerry Lynn Talks Hardcore Justice, TNA/WWE Products, and more http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36306&goto=newpost Fri, 03 Sep 2010 13:42:45 GMT From Todd Frizzell: Recently Low Blow Radio was joined by ECW original and former WCW/WWE star Jerry Lynn. The following are highlights from the... From Todd Frizzell:

Recently Low Blow Radio was joined by ECW original and former WCW/WWE star Jerry Lynn. The following are highlights from the interview…

When asked about Hardcore Justice Lynn said the following…

“I was intrigued. In the past I have participated in other ECW reunion events such as Hardcore Homecoming and Francine’s Legend’s Of The Arena deal. I was originally contacted by Tommy Dreamer and he told me that I would be facing Rob van Dam. I was very excited for the match and was extremely disappointed when I found out that I would be unable to participate due to an injury.”

When asked what his thoughts were on TNA possibly bringing back a form of ECW to run its own events Lynn said the following…

“I think it depends on how they do it. Vince dropped the ball when he brought it back in WWE so if TNA did is correctly I think it would and could be successful.”

When asked what his thoughts were on the TNA product overall Lynn said the following…

“It’s not what it was when it first started. It has progressed in the sense that the production values have gone up however one thing in particular I’d like to point out is TNA’s X Division and how they really helped build TNA and how it’s not really being utilized properly to its full potential today.”

When asked about Hogan and Bischoff coming to TNA and their impact on the product Lynn said…

Are you trying to prevent me from getting a job in the future there (laughing)??? (Jerry also explained how he would love to sign with TNA for a steady pay day and place to work) To be honest I don’t think they positively effected the company much. That’s all i will say about that.

When asked about facing RVD in the future in TNA Lynn said…

“Rob talked to me about this. We would both love to and are waiting for the right time and place to potentially do so.”

When asked about Tyler Black’s potential after signing a developmental deal with WWE as a former ROH competitor Lynn said…

“I think he’s improved greatly. I’ve wrestled him many times. Anyone who breaks into WWE is reaching their ultimate goal. I wish him all the best of luck.”

When asked about Kaval’s (a.k.a. Low KI or Senshi) potential in the WWE after winning NXT Season 2 Lynn replied…

“I it’s great he won it. He’s a really great wrestler. Some say he may not get an equal chance in WWE because of his size/style but look what happened to Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne). I wish him luck.”

When asked about WWE’s PG rating from TV-14 Lynn said the following…

“I think when a large part of your demographic is children and your trying to sell youth merchandise it only makes sense to target a young audience. I remember when I used to defend wrestling when it was real popular and people would attack it about how bad it was for children. I’d say what about all the rape and murder shown on prime time TV??? Then WWE did the big simulating sex act with a dead body I couldn’t even defend wrestling anymore. That’s why it should be PG.”

Lynn also announced that he will be receiving back surgery on September 9th.

Other topics included…

The reality show came up as a discussion topic following a recurring, “Jersey Shore”-themed Fallon bit, in which he “fist pumps” to a generic house beat played by “Late Night” band The Roots. After Cena congratulated Fallon on making it to three hundred episodes, the band set the beat to chants of “300.” Fallon then congratulated Cena in the wake of WWE’s 900th episode of RAW, at which point, The Roots saluted WWE with the “900? beat treatment.

The two then entered into a discussion about the show, which included a mention of how The Situation’s exaggerated facial expressions portray him as an onlooker watching the show from the outside, rather than as an actual member of the eight person cast. Talk turned to the cast members’ fitness for pro wrestling, at which point, Cena declared that the MTV reality stars would definitely be at home in the world of WWE.

Fallon specifically pointed to Ronnie as someone who could potentially get involved in the ring; Cena joked about Ronnie’s punching power, quoting “one punch, bro, one punch, bro” in reference to an infamous moment on the show in which Ronnie celebrated knocking someone out with a single shot. ]]>

All-Women?s NXT Season Related To WWE?s Unhappiness With Its Divas http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36291&goto=newpost Thu, 02 Sep 2010 08:58:55 GMT source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

The decision to make the third season of NXT an all-women’s show was likely made very recently because last week, WWE filmed twelve wrestlers at Florida Championship Wrestling, eight men and four women. Initial plans called for four men and four women to be featured in the abbreviated season, but it was later changed to six women.

There is hope that the show will garner better ratings with women prominently featured so they can reach a television deal with another network. There is also hope that Aloisia’s “freak of nature” persona will increase ratings so Syfy will change its mind and renew the program.

Another aspect revolves around unhappiness with many of its current female performers, resulting in the company looking for replacement Divas. Talent relations were unhappy with the behavior of several of the women in recent weeks, particularly when much of the roster was situated in Los Angeles for SummerSlam. It is said that Tiffany and the recently released Serena were not the only ones who made embarrassing scenes in public. Officials are very strict regarding the public image of its talent because of promises to corporate sponsors that World Wrestling Entertainment is a wholesome company.

As things stand now, the lame duck show will end its current season on October 1, with a live episode in Oklahoma City as part of a three-hour programming block that will include the network’s debut of Friday Night SmackDown.

Backstage Notes On NXT Rookie Diva AJ Lee http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36290&goto=newpost Thu, 02 Sep 2010 08:58:55 GMT source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Regarding NXT Rookie Diva AJ Lee, WWE’s creative department discussed changing the 23-year-old’s ring name due to a rival promotion’s wrestler sharing the same first name, but ultimately felt it was no concern.

WWE officials originally intended to promote Lee over the summer to the SmackDown brand as a new babyface Diva, replacing released performer Mickie James as ‘the cute small girl’. A vignette featuring Lee aired before the live crowd at the July 6th Friday Night SmackDown television taping om Atlanta, Georgia but cut from the television broadcast because they were introducing Alberto Del Rio via vignettes and felt that other talent shouldn’t be introduced simultaneously.

Lee, who’s real name is believed to be April Jeanette, started wrestling independently in the Northeast in 2007, two years after graduating from high school. While plying her trade on the indy circuit, Lee attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, majoring in Film and Television production. With just over 20 matches under her belt, she attended WWE’s May 2009 talent evaluation clinic and nabbed a developmental deal — the first female with prior wrestling experience to be signed to a contract in over two years.

Lee debuted in Florida Championship Wrestling in August 2009 and has been among the most prominently featured performers in the developmental promotion since then. She currently reigns as the Queen of FCW.

Of the six NXT season three contestants, Lee is the only contestant with prior WWE wrestling experience, having just competed last week at a SmackDown live event in Odessa, Texas. She is regarded as ‘far and away’ the best in-ring performer of the cast and thus considered the favorite entering the competition.

Despite the injury, Mercury is expected to remain on television since he had his arm on Monday’s Raw just days after surgery. Many feel that with Serena’s recent release, it wasn’t a good time to remove Mercury from television since the Straight Edge Society wouldn’t be much of a group with two people. However, Punk and Gallows broke up at the following night’s SmackDown television taping, so the injury may have been the catalyst to disband the group.

Negative Backstage Report On John Cena, Find The NXT Rookie Divas On Twitter http://www.ewoforums.com/showthread.php?t=36276&goto=newpost Wed, 01 Sep 2010 06:06:19 GMT – Vince McMahon noted in a recent interview with the Boston Herald that he held a talent meeting a few years ago urging his performers to “reach for the brass ring” regardless of whom they have to step over. He particularly recalled John Cena approaching him at the end of the meeting to say, ‘I’m your man.’

The interview caught the attention of an anonymous wrestler who attended the meeting. He said there were actually five wrestlers who came over to McMahon following the meeting to say they were the right man for the job.

“The only difference is that Cena did his ‘stepping over guys’ in the locker room more than the ring,” said the wrestler.

The anonymous wrestler feels McMahon was looking for a “backstabbing asshole/stooge” to serve as his top WWE Superstar.

“It has zero to do with in-ring talent,” the wrestler said. “Cena stepped on guys like the Spirit Squad and others who were only there for less than six months.” (source: Pro Wrestling Torch)

Winner: Alex Riley

It is time for the next pro and it is Alicia Fox. She says that she was not surprised to be named an NXT pro. She was surprised that her rookie is almost as fierce. Her rookie is Maxine. She says that she expects nothing but the best, but she will be the best. She says that she wants it all.

The pros are huddling up and they are figuring out who will be eliminated next.

We are back and Goldust is our next pro. He says that he has seen his rookie and she will star in a Shattered Dreams Production. You will never forget the name Aksana. Aksana says that she is hard working and she will show everyone.

It is time to go to Matt Striker and before we get our first elimination, Matt wants to ask the Failure Five what they think. He asks Titus who should win and why. Titus says that you have a ninja, Will Ferrell’s lookalike and a guy who is trying to relive his high school football days. He says the football guy should win. Eli says that Alex Riley should win. He says that Alex is the most likeable. Lucky Cannon says that it won’t be the guy who runs around in a diaper, the middle aged guy who is still living in high school. He doesn’t care because the show was flushed when he was eliminated. Percy Watson says that Michael McGillicutty will win because he has the lineage. Husky Harris says that Michael will win season two because Michael was just born better.

It is time for the Random Who Get EliminatedTron 5000 and it is Alex Riley.

Miz is outraged while Kofi is loving the elimination.

Matt asks Alex for some final words. Alex says the worst part is listening to Matt talk over him. Alex says that his father was not a sports entertainer and he did not spend his youth wrestling in bars to get an internet following. Before this competition started, nobody knew who he was. However, he is standing in the ring almost the next WWE breakout star. Alex says that everyone believes that he is the most talented kid in this contest. Alex says that if he was a betting man, he would still bet the future of the WWE on Alex Riley.

Michael and Alex shake hands.

Time for the next pros and it is the Bella Twins. Their rookie has been in sports her entire life and it is Jamie Keyes. She says that being a ring announcer has allowed the people to get to know her, but she is ready to get from behind the mic to compete.

We go to commercial.

We are back and it is down to two men as Michael Cole recovers from his disappointment to show the China video package that you might have seen last night on Raw.

Primo is in the back and he is one of the pros. He is here to mentor AJ Lee. She says that she always wanted to be a diva and you are not going to get rid of her.

Matt Striker is in the ring with Michael and Kaval. He has then stand face to chin and they will get to say why the other should be eliminated and why they should win.

Michael asks if Kaval is Michelle and Layla’s adopted ninja baby. He tells Kaval that this isn’t a swimming pool, so why is he wearing a wet suit. Michael points out that it took 13 years to make it so how will he make it any further. He calls Kaval a ‘flute’ and then he says that no matter how you like it . . . Michael is out of time.

Kaval tells Michael that he was trained by Harley Race and is a third generation Superstar. He was set up perfectly. Kaval says that he came from a hard working middle class family. He is a hard working guy from New York. Kaval says that it took him 13 years to get here, but he has earned his respect around the world. He sacrificed his blood, sweat, and tears to be in the ring with the likes of Eddie Guerrero.

Michael and Kaval have their final chance for some trash talking and we go to commercial.

We are back and Vickie Guerrero is a pro on NXT’s Season Three. Her rookie is strong and dominant. Her name is Aloisia. She is six foot nine inches tall and she will be unstoppable.

Cole calls Aloisia geenormous.

We are in the ring and it is time to find out which man will be the winner of Season Two of NXT and it is Kaval.

Michelle and Layla come to the ring to celebrate with Kaval.

Michael shows his disappointment over the loss and Matt asks Michael for his thoughts. Michael takes the mic and he stares at Kaval and then he says that he doesn’t know what to say. He wonders how Kaval won. Michael says that Kaval is going to go to a pay per view for a title shot. Michael says that it will suck. No matter what Kaval thinks, he is nowhere near the level of Michael McGillicutty. He only had one goal and that was to be a WWE World Champion. However, he got eliminated today and he lost his guaranteed shot at a title. That is not going to stop him from becoming a future World Heavyweight Champion. He says that he is the future of this company. He will be a big time player in the machine called WWE. HE says that he is the next big thing and the next generation. From this moment on, this will be the moment of the genesis of McGillicutty.

Kaval says that he doesn’t know what to say but he thanks the WWE Universe. The First Five eliminated attack Kaval and then the pros come to the ring and they fight off the Feeble Five. Harris and Watson attack Kaval while Porter hits the running boot into the corner on O’Neil. O’Neil is thrown over the top rope to the floor. Husky with a uranage and then Alex Riley comes out and so does McGillicutty. Riley goes after Watson and slams him. Michael and Husky continue to attack Kaval.

Cannon gets Kaval up and hits a reverse Death Valley Driver. Harris with the back senton onto Kaval. Riley picks up Kaval and hits the TKO. O’Neil with a sit out spinebuster.

It is time for a look back at Season Two of NXT as we go to credits.
