So after watching MITB, i was very pissed off.
The whole MITB matches were shit compared to the Wrestlemania ones which were on the under card and yet they built a whole PPV around it and it flopped in my eyes.
And i just finished watching the ladder match on IMPACT! and it was thousands time better than the whole PPV.
Lets say scrap the PPV and let the MITB stay at Wrestlemania where half the time is better than the Main event.
The gimmick loses its specialty when its run three times a year. However, we could have a money in the bank time loop. Wrestlemania challenger uses his shot, then the raw winner uses his, then the smackdown winner uses his.
Or, my favorite idea thus far, all three of them cash in simultaneously, but end up cancelling each other out and the champ retains.
I wasn't a fan of this in the beginning, and I'm not a fan of it now. With money in the bank being limited to one guy, it adds a whole lot of "will he/won't he" around every post title match, every beat down. Yes, I know only one person has a money in the bank shot now, but are you going to tell me that every mitb ppv, we have to have someone cash in?
^^You cant do that anymore because their momentum would become shot and they would never recover. If every former MITB winner won the title, and then someone loses, they would become a joke.
Would definitely be interested in the prospect of the Mania MITB winner still holding his briefcase when this PPV occurs, and having competition for opportunistic title shots.
I like the whole Feast or fire that TNA does.
But dont do the whole fire thing cause kayfacing is so like 99
Anyway have 3 cases with Championship, Tag and IC
That would be cool
you're kidding, right? half of being a face is building sympathy for yourself. That's what the heel plays off of, he cheats and wins, he gets his heat for cheating and people feel bad for you losing when you shouldn't have. Go watch the ending of Drew/Christian on SD, that's exactly what that match was.
Done right a loss in this atmosphere would be worth more than a win. Look at Jeff Hardy before he finally one, he came up short time and time again and in the process became a HUGE FACE. Now look at Punk's face cash in, he didn't get mad over because he more or less just stole it. A face cashing it in and losing and refusing to simply go away is big business if you do it right.
Jeff really should have won the title in Cyber Sunday. By the time he did win it, he already lost a bit of momentum by "losing" 4 title matches in a row (scramble match, HHH, HHH again, Survivor Series). By then Edge's return took a lot of the focus away from Jeff.
If the Miz cashed it in against Cena at say Surivivor Series, and lost, he would become a joke. If they built it as the biggest match of his career and he loses, he would become a joke.
Face getting sympathy is all well and good, but if you have the advantage (which the MITB winner does) and dont win, they lose credibility. Look at Edge vs Jericho this year at Mania. Edge won the rumble, but then lost against Jericho. The rumble winner has all the momentum, all the fanfare, everyone is backing him, but then he loses. His momentum just stops.
